Did You Know?
IIBA sponsors Himawari-kai, a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of the Japanese community in the Bay Area through educational, social, and philanthropic activities. The Immigration Institute has supported Himawari-kai since its founding in 1971. The organization constructs mutually supportive relationships between members and surrounding communities. IIBA is proud to sponsor Himawari-kai.
IIBA also sponsors the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office’s Immigration Defense Fund which provides support to people facing deportation. Contributions to this fund will be used to provide grants to local non-profit agencies and organizations that provide legal services to detained immigrants.
